This will be the last announcement for the upcoming Western Trace Organics Workshop, except for a final agenda to be released around April 17. We currently have approximately 23 presentations and around 8-10 posters. As space is limited, we will not be accepting any more requests that may come in for posters, and we have 1 or 2 slots left for oral presentations if anyone wants to get in at the last minute. As these may fill any time, please contact Angelo to see what the current agenda status is. A current agenda is attached in the e-mail. This is still subject to change.
We are offering one-day registrations for those who feel they cannot commit the time or expense for all three days of the event. The fee is $50 and payment may be made at the workshop location in cash or by cheque. We regret to say that the Monday buffet lunch and the Tuesday dinner cruise are not included in the one-day registrations, but morning and afternoon coffees are. Also, anyone who wishes to bring a spouse/partner/friend to the cruise may do so, but the cost must be borne by the registrant. It is estimated at approximately $ 60. We are asking that all workshop participants please respond to Angelo by April 12 if possible, as to your intention to attend either or both the Sunday evening hospitality suite and the dinner cruise, as we need some firm numbers for the hotel and cruise company respectively. Also, many of you will have been present at workshops, seminars, etc. where more time is spent attempting to get incompatible powerpoint presentations, computers, software revs etc to operate than is spent actually seeing the presentation. For this reason, if possible we ask that you prepare your powerpoint presentations on CD and bring them to run on our computer. Our software is Office 2000, which should be fully compatible with any previous version. We trust you will all have a truly enjoyable workshop, and we look forward to seeing you there. A block of rooms has been set aside for the workshop. Please make reservations directly with the hotel by phone at 800-663-9151, 604-623-6866 or by fax at 604-684-4736. Let them know that you will be attending the workshop. Please respond to this announcement as soon as possible. In order to help us better prepare the agenda, the proposed deadline for submission of presentations is March 21st. Please inform any of your colleagues who may be interested in attending this workshop. We would be happy to add them to our mailing list (both e-mail and regular mail).
