Dear colleagues:

You are invited to attend the 2002 Western Trace Organic Workshop, to be held in Vancouver, BC, April 21-24, 2002.

We are putting out a call for papers on the usual topics (organic residues in a variety of matrices) but would welcome presentations on works in progress as well as organic analysis that cover other topics. Presentations will typically be 20 minutes but if circumstances allow more time may be granted if requested in advance and the schedule permits.

During our Early Registration, as an inducement to commit to attending and in order to help solidify our planning, we are going to have a draw for an excellent door prize for all who register to attend and pay before February 28, 2002. We will send out the second announcement with registration forms on or around Jan 31st.

Registration fee will be approximately $125 and will include snacks at the hospitality suite the evening of the 21st, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, and a social event to be decided upon when we have a better idea of probable attendance.

We are in the process of choosing the best accommodation for this event, price per room should fall between $90-120, but is expected to be under $100 and be fairly centrally located in the downtown area.

The following is a tentative schedule:

  • April 21, Sunday evening hospitality suite/mixer with free food and cash bar from 7 to 10 pm
  • April 22, Monday, 8:30 to 4:30 papers/presentations
  • April 23, Tuesday, 8:30 to 4:30 papers/presentations
  • April 24, Wednesday, morning papers/presentations followed by wrap up and afternoon lab tours
  • A social event will be announced at a later date
In order to try and boost attendance and increase papers and participation, please forward this or notify in person anyone whom you think may wish to attend that we might have missed.
